Greetings!
My name is Rashaad O’Neal,
a communications, PR, and marketing professional located in the Greater Seattle Area.
I earned my bachelor’s degree at Angelo State University in 2011 in communications and am currently pursuing my master’s online in integrated marketing communications at the University of West Alabama.
For nearly a decade, I have worked for news stations, sports teams, non-profit organizations, and school districts, gaining exceptional experience in AP and creative writing, photography, video production, crisis communications, strategic communication planning, marketing, and event planning.

From creative writing to strategic planning, Rashaad developed innovative ways to accomplish the caucus’ goals. In group projects, he showed exceptional leadership qualities, taking the initiative on projects and assignments, crafting strategic messaging, and displayed excellent communications skills with everyone that worked with him. Along with his confidence and creativity, Rashaad possesses leadership traits that make him stand out: approachable, unselfishness, and looks at situations from an equitable and inclusive mindset.
I first met Mr. O’Neal when he was hired to work
for us at the Washington State School Directors’ Association (WSSDA). He immediately established connections with coworkers and quickly became a valued member of the team. He conducted
research on a variety of K-12 education issues, including but not limited to, best practices, resources for school board members, and educational trends. He also planned, coordinated, and supported branch events by scheduling logistics, participant registration, branding, marketing, and communications.
Rashaad is a high energy individual who generated a lot of new ideas for ways that we could communicate with district stakeholders. His experience in video production was a particularly timely assets with districts and the ESD. There was also a series of new software platforms Rashaad brought experience with to benefit our county.
He extends his commitment to school public relations beyond just those districts he serves by offering his knowledge, insight and expertise in the area of school communications to the state and national school public relations boards and committees he’s served on. As the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) Vice President for the Northwest Region, I have had a first-hand look at his service on the Oregon School Public Relations Association (OSPRA) Board of Directors and a member of the NSPRA Equity Task Force Committee. Rashaad’s leadership, creativity and collaboration have helped propel many initiatives and professional development opportunities for professional school communicators throughout our region and nation.
